The Yemen Nexus Initiative (YNI) has recently announced the formation of a new advocacy group focused on reducing natural disasters, with the participation of the following organizations: Abs Development Organization, Kenan Foundation for Rural Development, Generations Without Qat Organization, Kayan for Peace Foundation, Ebda’a Environmental Foundation, Yamaniaat Association, The Humanitarian Organization, Ramz Foundation, and Peace School Organization. This initiative comes as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen coordination across the humanitarian, development, and peace sectors.

The group aims to support community resilience initiatives, develop evidence-based advocacy tools, and enhance collective efforts to influence national disaster-risk reduction policies.

Campaign Objectives

  1. Increase community awareness of natural disaster risks and strengthen resilience.
  2. Unify and coordinate efforts among organizations, local authorities, the private sector, and communities to ensure rapid and effective emergency response.
  3. Advocate for sustainable policies and procedures to reduce the impact of natural disasters.
  4. Promote solidarity and shared responsibility through humanitarian and community initiatives that support disaster-affected communities.

This development marks an important step toward improving local preparedness and reducing the impact of natural disasters across Yemen.
