1- Introduction to the course and project
- In light of the increasing humanitarian and development challenges, training on the principle of the tripartite interdependence between humanitarian, development and peace is important as a vital strategic tool. This training is an effective way to enhance cooperation and coordination between various target groups, including community representatives, local and international organizations, and government agencies.
- Training contributes to effective integration by enhancing coordination between actors, enabling the exchange of knowledge and experiences and promoting a common understanding of goals and challenges. It also promotes sustainability by integrating humanitarian needs with development efforts, directly contributing to reducing conflicts and addressing their root causes. In addition, this approach empowers local communities by enhancing their active participation in decision-making processes, creating a strong sense of ownership and responsibility. Training is also an important tool to guide public policies towards comprehensive strategies, which support the ability of government agencies to develop effective programs that keep pace with contemporary challenges. Thus, training on the principle of triple interdependence is a key pillar for building a sustainable and secure future, where all actors cooperate to achieve common goals that reflect the values of cooperation and inclusive development.
- The importance of the training came from the leadership role played by Abs Development Organization in the field of work to link humanitarian aid, development and peace towards a comprehensive vision to address the challenges facing Yemen and the sensitive internal contexts of conflicts and have become fragile. Therefore, the organization established the Yemeni Nexus Tripartite Interdependence Initiative, which consists of a group of local organizations active in the field of humanitarian, development and peacebuilding work, including organizations led by women leaders within the community. The initiative consists of an institutional structure that includes many civil society organizations and aims to build the capacity of stakeholders and base its work on evidence based on knowledge and collaboration methodologies. Training on the principle of triple interdependence Nexus is one of its priorities in sensitive contexts of conflicts, and based on the initiative, under the leadership of Abs Development Organization, training on the principle of triple interdependence in Marib Governorate in accordance with its strategy described above and targeting the community, local and international organizations, donors and relevant government agencies in the field of humanitarian and development work and peacebuilding in order to achieve sustainable development and stability at all levels.

3- Definition of the course:
- The course aims to promote the triangular interdependence approach between the actors and the training seeks to promote the concept of triple interdependence and introduce the principles, methodologies and principles of triple interdependence, identify stakeholders and networking and support opportunities to finance triangular interdependence between actors. The course also aims to build evidence on the application of the triangular interdependence approach in Yemen and to understand the application of the approach in a programmatic manner and to the outputs that define the mechanisms of coordination between stakeholders and funding and advocacy mechanisms.
- Through the participation analysis of the trainees, a diversity of local civil society organizations led by youth and women and effective community leaders in the field of humanitarian, development and peacebuilding work contributed to giving the nature of training importance in the debate and raising awareness.
- There is a diversity of international organizations working in the field of food security, health, protection and development and implementing development and relief projects within the affected communities.
- UN organizations and international advocates such as the Salman Relief Center also participated in the training, as well as a variety of women-led organizations either governmental, local or community representatives. The number of governmental and non-governmental organizations that participated in the training reached 35 local and international organizations, donors and diversified in local associations, institutions, organizations and coalitions. Local organizations make up 90% of the trainees and gender represents 35% of the 49 participants.
- The importance of training comes from the effective selection of the initiative led by Abs, which is considered as a feminist roadmap for peacebuilding, development and humanitarian action. The sectors in which the organizations participating in the training operate in Marib Governorate and the women-led organization participating in the training were analyzed by selecting 15 women-led organizations within the community. As for the organizations participating in the training, most of them work in humanitarian work, and approximately 70% of civil society consists of relief organizations, 25% in development and protection, and 5% of organizations work in the field of development and peacebuilding. The training was attended by UN organizations such as the Humanitarian Aid and Relief Coordination Office (OCHA) as well as the International Organization for Migration, the Coordinator of the Nutrition Sub-Bloc and international organizations such as the Norwegian Council. Figure 1 illustrates the multiple sectors carried out by organizations at the community level that correspond to the objectives and outputs of training on the principle of triple interdependence. The representation of women leaders and decision makers in the training course was present from the highest levels of decision and to the assistant and executive management, representing 15 women decision-makers. Executive management and decision makers from program managers represent more than 70% of the trainees.
4. General objective of the course
- The training aims to raise awareness of the importance of NEXUS triple interdependence in the community, civil and governmental context.
- Identify challenges to work within the Trio Nexus principles, analyze them and work to address them within context.
- Introduce the principle of triple interdependence and the benefits of work within the principle of triple interdependence and work methodologies in this sensitive context.
- Measuring the level of cooperation, networking and advocacy among participants at all local, international and community levels, as well as government and relevant coalitions. Define the mechanisms of work within conflict-sensitive contexts and measure the extent of response to the face of financial challenges and grants in the relief and humanitarian context.
